We are here for you

Just You Accounting is a small business & individual accounting firm located in Bundaberg, QLD.

We take pride in providing you with personal service, excellent results, and peace of mind that your taxes are filed properly. It's like having an accountant on speed dial!

Our goal

Our goal is to make sure that our clients' needs are met whether they're running their own company or managing their household budget. One size doesn't fit all when it comes to tax preparation & planning; we work closely with each client to identify what services best meet their individual needs and budget constraints.

Our history

We first opened on 15 May 2005 as Purkis Partners based in Emerald Queensland. I had a different surname then.

The practice initially formed as I took over from my employer. I had worked there as an undergraduate accountant from 1999. I finished up at my employer for the birth of my son and started my own practice later the same year.

My goal was to start fresh. I was determined to upgrade from the old DOS-based system and other practices. I spent a lot of time researching software and designing forms and procedures to be as efficient as possible. This drive to adopt technology has continued, particularly as I changed my entire practice from MYOB to Xero in 2017.

I relocated to Bundaberg in 2014 and continue to service my clients in Emerald and all over Australia.

I was very fortunate to be able to run my business from my home from 2006 to 2018, but in 2018 I moved to a small office in the Bundaberg CBD.

Helping our community is important to us

As my practice continues to grow, I want my business premises to meet and exceed the expectations of our clients in terms of accessibility and service delivery.

I plan to employ and train people in the profession as they are undertaking their accounting studies. I personally found working while studying enhanced my ability to learn and would like to offer this opportunity to others. I know it may be cliché, but I would like to be able to employ people from an underprivileged background, as that is where I came from.

Whilst running a business is about having an income and being able to support me and my family, I am not interested in making big money. I love the lifestyle being self-employed allows me.

"Looking back to 20-year-old me… I would never have thought this is where I would be. I am grateful to the mentors who have supported and encouraged me along the way, my family and of course my clients."
